Mandela Washington Fellow, Karen Chitamaluka, is an Information Specialist, Entrepreneur and a graduate of Leadership in Public Management and Governance from University of South Africa Graduate School of Business Leadership. Trained under the YALI Regional Leadership Center Southern Africa. She serves as Advocacy and Marketing Coordinator for Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Zambian Chapter. Karen has a double major bachelor of Arts in Library and Information Science with Public Administration from the University of Zambia (UNZA)
She has over 4 years experience as an Information Specialist, ensuring quality information is shared and information resources are accurately organised and accessed by children, adolescents and adults. At the centre of her work is ensuring information literacy gap is bridged at all levels and she acts as a catalyst for positive change.
As a Mandela Washington Fellow, Karen will complete her Professional Development Experience (PDE) with The Schreiber Research Group (TSRG) in August of 2023. She will work on the quarterly newsletter and create social media content for Giving Season that will be promoted on all social media platforms.
