RE: TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
Dear Sir/Madam,
I write this letter in full support of The Schreiber Research Group’s (TSRG) funding request to enable it recruit and assist interns to carry out its research activities, focused on addressing the Opioid crisis in the United States. Having worked with TSRG between 2019 and 2021, I am well-positioned to offer first-hand testimony about the incredible learning opportunities the Group affords to interns and research assistants. As a former research assistant, I worked with a team to collect county-level data for Opioid research. The experience introduced me to Opioid policy in the US and enhanced my data collection skills. It also improved my teamwork skills by performing collaborative tasks. One evidence of this collaboration is a research publication in the Journal of Public
Health Management and Practice that can be found here.
I am currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Science, University of Tennessee Knoxville. Here, I teach graduate and undergraduate courses in public policy. I research topics in public policy more broadly, but with a specific focus on energy and environmental policy in sub-Saharan Africa and the United States. I thank TSRG for the opportunity it afforded me to develop my research and analytical skills. Please seriously consider supporting their efforts through a donation. This group is doing important work by conducting cutting-edge research to inform policy interventions to address the Opioid crisis in the United States. Your generous donation will provide the needed financial support to enable the Group to continue fulfilling its mission.
Please feel free to contact me via: aoseikoj@utk.edu if further information is needed.
Sincerely,
Alex Osei-Kojo, PhD
Assistant Professor
